چکیده

Breast Cancer Therapy In article number 2201971, Ruibing Wang and co-workers develop supramolecular peptide (based upon the host–guest interaction between cucurbit[7]uril Phe-Phe-Val-Leu-Lys) capped Au nanocages, to allow self-aggregation into micron-sized clusters inside spermine-overexpressed tumor cells, leading specific accumulation retention of nanocages in breast for synergistic photothermal therapy chemotherapy.

A quantitative study on the photothermal effect of immuno gold nanocages targeted to breast cancer cells.

Gold nanocages with an average edge length of 65 +/- 7 nm and a strong absorption peak at 800 nm were conjugated with monoclonal antibodies (anti-HER2) to target breast cancer cells (SK-BR-3) through the epidermal growth factor receptor (in this case, HER2), which is overexpressed on the surfaces of the cells. Both the number of immuno Au nanocages immobilized per cell and the photothermal ther...

Plasmonic Nanocages as Photothermal Transducers for Nanobubble Cancer Therapy

Plasmonics is emerging from among the most promising means for generating and controlling thermal energy at the nanoscale. In this approach, metallic nanoparticles are laser heated at plasmon resonant wavelengths that depend on the size, shape and properties of the particles. Key attributes of this method include remote optical activation, nanoscale resolution and efficient photothermal transdu...

A54 peptide-mediated functionalized gold nanocages for targeted delivery of DOX as a combinational photothermal-chemotherapy for liver cancer

The combination of photothermal therapy and chemotherapy (photothermal-chemotherapy) is a promising strategy for cancer therapy. Gold nanocages (AuNCs), with hollow and porous structures and unique optical properties, have become a rising star in the field of drug delivery. Here, we designed a novel targeted drug delivery system based on functionalized AuNCs and evaluated their therapeutic effe...

Intracellular pH-Induced Tip-to-Tip Assembly of Gold Nanorods for Enhanced Plasmonic Photothermal Therapy

The search for efficient plasmonic photothermal therapies using nonharmful pulse laser irradiation at the near-infrared (NIR) is fundamental for biomedical cancer research. Therefore, the development of novel assembled plasmonic gold nanostructures with the aim of reducing the applied laser power density to a minimum through hot-spot-mediated cell photothermolysis is an ongoing challenge. We de...

A Comparison Study of Gold Nanohexapods, Nanorods, and Nanocages for Photothermal Cancer Treatment

Gold nanohexapods represent a novel class of optically tunable nanostructures consisting of an octahedral core and six arms grown on its vertices. By controlling the length of the arms, their localized surface plasmon resonance peaks could be tuned from the visible to the near-infrared region for deep penetration of light into soft tissues. Herein we compare the in vitro and in vivo capabilitie...
